2010 01 12 Earthquake killing over 300,000 souls
3 months after the quake we flew over the damaged area
On April 22 2010 we drove back over Haiti to tour the Earthquake damage.

over 300,000 people buried here

On a typical hot winters day we paid our respects to so many lost souls. The scale of the loss is hard to imagine. Thinking of how many people lie around us was hard to comprehend. We all stopped, knelt down, and said a few words. I hired a few locals as tour guides. One way to spread some money around. They used to live in PAP but lost everything in the disaster including family members.

We heard it many times from people living in the camps. Some money was getting thru but they all felt it was best if the money went to small aid groups in Haiti that have worked in Haiti for years. Too much of the money was being used up by organizations with high overheads.
