Mission Statement
School in Ile A Vache Haiti

FRIENDS OF ILE A VACHE HAITI, making a positive long term difference in Haiti.  Working with Canadians, Americans, and other nationalities to raise funds and supplies for sustainable projects.   Bringing donated items by sailboat to the shores of Haiti for use in a library built by some of our members, to a clinic recently built by others, to the local orphanages and to schools throughout Haiti.  By working with the local fishermen by bringing  tools to build better boats, supplying sails,  rigging and fishing gear to increase the harvest.
Working with governments to create projects that supply drinking water and fresh food.  Helping the local population with emergency aid so family members can get medical attention and medicines.   Improving the standard of living buy building a local variety store so inhabitants can cut down on long trips to the mainland.  Working towards creating Ile a Vache Marine Park to protect the underwater

maritime heritage lying all around the island in the way of shipwrecks.  This heritage can lead to jobs, a better economy and an avenue to foreign currency from tourism.  Sending over 90 children to school throughout the island.  Creating the TEACHERS FOR HAITI program, to find new ways to educate Haitian teachers so the standard of education rises all throughout Haiti.  Helping the local villages lift up their standard of living.  Giving a hand up and not a hand out.
Always looking for new friends to get involved with.  Send us your email address to stay informed.  We send out weekly emails to all who are interested.  You can see the work going on, meet our Haitian staff, be part of a new page for Haiti.
